General Information
- A Elite Archer is the base form of a Trinity Archer. The upgrade to Trinity Archer increases the amount of arrows fired from 4 to 5.
- Unlike Masked Spirit, Elite Archer has a main target. This means that it will attack the same target with at least 1 arrow until it dies. And it can attack the same target with multiple arrows at once, while a Masked Spirit can not.
- That "main" arrow is not part of its Ability meaning only 3 of the 4 arrows get enhanced by Ability Damage increasing effects, such as Sorcerer or Rogue Wave's Ability.
Strategy
- A Elite Archer is a good opening Fighter, but has to be played carefully as it tends to spread its damage on the wave which can cause big leaks.
- When opening with Elite Archer you should always Split, even on Wave 1: Crabs to make sure you don't leak to a Snail. This is because a Elite Archer is more effective when it can focus its damage on a smaller part of the Wave as that helps it kill that part of the Wave faster.
- The Split should always be roughly on the same height as the Elite Archer as that makes half of the wave go to the Elite Archer and the other half to the Split.
- Only exception being on Wave 5 Boss: Scorpion King, that is when you want a split that is lower than the Elite Archer as that ensures that the Scorpion King will go to the side of the Elite Archer. This is because killing the Scorpion King is very important as it is a big part of the Wave 5 Gold bounty.
- When opening with Elite Archer you should always Split, even on Wave 1: Crabs to make sure you don't leak to a Snail. This is because a Elite Archer is more effective when it can focus its damage on a smaller part of the Wave as that helps it kill that part of the Wave faster.
- It is also very important to have a strong Split to make sure that the Elite Archer has enough time killing its half of the wave before the tanks in the Split die. A good rule of thumb is to have an equal amount of tanks on the Main Side and the Split.
- For the early game it is good to upgrade the Elite Archer to an Trinity Archer when you are expecting a big send on Wave 7: Sludges, Wave 8: Kobras or Wave 10 Boss: Granddaddy, but it can be good on other Waves too if it is your only Damage Fighter.
- Upgrading it on Wave 7 and Wave 8 can be quite hard though as you usually don't have that much Income. So sometimes it can also be a good option to build a second Elite Archer.
- APS and Dark Mage are the best supportive units for the Elite Archer. This is because Attack Speed buffs are very effective with the multi shot Ability. MPS is usually only worth when you already have at least 2 Trinity Archers on the Aura (Source).
