“Walks upright to protect its craftsman's hands from injury.”

Long-ranged. Throws spears at its enemies from afar.

Strategy

  • A Lizard is a cheap, cost-effective source of pierce damage which can be an effective tool for punishing swift/arcane heavy enemy builds in the early game, as well as being a good source of income.
  • While it falls off heavily in the mid to late game, this low cost ranged mercenary is a good counter to popular arcane/swift armoured openers such as Nekomata, Nightmare and Berserker.
  • As a ranged mercenary, it does not tank for the wave creeps and so should be sent primarily as a source of pierce damage. Try to send Lizards on a wave where your opponent's build has poor damage types vs the wave creep armour.
  • If your opponent has a Tree Of Knowledge as his / her only unit early game, you can make them leak just the lizard, which is out of range of the explosion of the Tree Of Knowledge's on death explosion. While this leak does not significantly hurt any player, it can be used to prolong a wave if you have more Workers than your opponent.
  • Using the legion spell Lizard Army, you can get additional lizards on waves 11 to 13, which can strengthen your send if you were planning to send on those waves anyways. If there is Lizard Army in the game, some players send a lizard on wave 11 when they did not pick Lizard Army to mislead the opponent, making them think the Lizard Army legion spell was chosen, making them expect a big 12 or 13 send.
