The Mythium Gate is the barrier formed in the middle area below each team's lanes on the 2v2 Maps. The Mythium Gate blocks passage to the Holding Zone leading to the King, and thus prevents leaked creeps from reaching the King until certain criteria have been met.

The purpose of the Mythium Gate is to prevent situations where one player holding their lane could be worse than leaking in King race scenarios. A King Race scenario takes place when both teams are going to die to leaked creeps. Without the Mythium Gate, a player clearing their wave slowly could theoretically lose their King to their teammate's leak before the enemy King dies.

The rules of the Mythium Gate are as follows:

  • If only one player on a team leaks, the Mythium Gate will remain closed until both enemy players either leak or hold their lanes. In the case where both enemies leak, the Mythium Gate opens at the same time as the enemy Mythium Gate opens, giving the holding player a chance to clear their teammates leaks while the enemy leaks both advance straight to the enemy King.
  • If both players on a team leak, the Mythium Gate will open once all creeps from both lanes reach the area in front of the Mythium Gate.
  • If both players on both teams leak, the Mythium Gates for each team will open as soon as all creeps from that side reach the area in front of the Mythium Gate.
    • The Mythium Gate the creeps reach first will open that teams gate in a King race scenario,. The team which leaks first in a King race will most often lose the race and therefore lose the game.
      • In some cases mercenary type and percentage of the wave leaked can have an influence in a King Race scenario.
