“Causes tremors with each swing of its gigantic axe.”

Now summons a fearsome Cerberus.

Strategy

  • The Gateguard and Harbinger are the unupgraded and upgraded tier 3 fighters of the Forsaken legion. Both of these units are classified as damage dealing summoners. At the start of the wave, they will summon their canine companions, which are low HP / high DPS units. Keeping the base unit and their summons alive for as long as possible is key to maximising the value of these units.
  • A good rule of thumb to remember is that these units are balanced around getting out 2 of their summons. This means that if the unit dies before summoning the second pupper, then you are essentially wasting some of their potential. On the other hand, if you can keep them alive long enough to summon 3 or even more times, then these units will provide you with insane value for their gold cost.
  • Best positioned against the wall behind your frontline tanks, remember to keep these units safe to allow them to live long and prosper.
  • The gateguard is also one of the few units which can hold wave 1 solo for 100 gold, meaning you can push to 5 workers from the very start of the game if you play this unit. However, you should only do this if you have good supporting units to allow you to hold wave 2 against a Dragon Turtle.
  • Synergises well with: Mana regeneration such as Sacred Steed or Starcaller. Also with auras to boost the strength and longevity of the summons such as Butcher or Whitemane.
  • Strongest waves: 1, 6, 7, 9, 17
  • Weakest waves: 3, 4, 8, 10, 12, 15, 16, 18
