Strategy

Dread Knight's full potential is reached if it can make clones faster than they die, allowing the shadow dancer to survive forever.
There should be at-least one tank in front of Dread Knight to allow it to make clones before being a valid target. See Pathing & Targeting.
- Building Dread Knight on the furthest sides will also reduce the chances it get targeted.
- Having tanks in the split will help you control which units get focused by the Wave.
- buffs that allow Dread Knight to heal itself will reduce the odds it gets focused, especially so against Centaurs. Sources of self healing are Butcher, Tree Of Life, Ocean Templar, Vampire and Protector.
Increasing Dread Knight's attack speed will also increase the rate by which clones are made, making it shadow Dancer's most powerful stat. Sources of attack speed are APS, Dark Mage, Pulverizer, Divine Blessing and Battle Scars.
Contrary to Hatebreeder's wording, Increasing Dread Knight's Life through a buff such as Lost Chieftain won't increase the life of its clones.
- Clones will obtain the buffs from other sources, such as from Tree of Life.
Clones will spawn randomly within 100 range of Dread Knight, but always in a manner where the clone will be able to attack a target without needing to move.
