“With its secret stash of loot, it can be sold for a high percentage of its original cost. Weak stats.”
Can be sold for 90% of the initial cost.
Opening
- Pirate Skeleton can be used as an opener by placing two of them one on each side of the board. Buy 1 Worker for 3 total. Be careful as this will leak to a snail.
- If the opponent sent to you on wave 1, you can buy 2 more Worker, bringing you to a total of 5. If you did not get sent on wave 1, you should instead immediately sell one of them and upgrade the other for wave wave 2.
- At the start of wave 3, you should sell one of your Pirate Skeleton to upgrade the other if you haven't done so already.
- Alternatively, you can sell both Pirate Skeleton and build a tier 6 unit instead of upgrading to Spectral Scallywag. The most common tier 6 units to sell for are Banana Bunk and Holy Avenger.
- Another alternative is to open with a tier 3 unit such as Treant, Windhawk or Gateguard, building a Pirate Skeleton on wave 2. This then allows you to sell the Pirate Skeleton on wave 3 to upgrade the tier 3 unit.
Strategy
- This unit is designed for early game, and mainly acts as a temporal gold storage, similar to the Grarl, but at the advantage of a lower gold cost. However its stats are compatibly low for the cost of the unit, it should only be used as a temporal Buffer or for later upgrading.
- Buying a Pirate Skeleton and selling it in a later round will make you lose a total of 8 , similar to a tier 1 unit, this makes it an excellent unit to temporarily adjust your split.
